The Good Wife's Guide

1.     Identify the representation of women:
·      Women are represented as almost slaves and that they have to do everything they can to please their husbands
·      They can’t say what they want, that everything must be about their husband
·      It’s almost like they can’t speak for themselves and that they’re robots and that there is a set of rules they must follow for men to like them

2.     Identify how this is constructed:
·      This is constructed through the way the article is written as it is written like a set of instructions or rules
·      The picture shows the wife cooking, making sure she looks good, trying to look after the children and still have a conversation with the husband after he has come in after work
·      The husband doesn’t really look like he’s doing anything
·      The title of the article is ‘The Good Wife’s Guide’ as in to say this is the only way you can be a ‘good wife’
